Losing your hair? There’s something for that (and it actually works!)

Everything you need to know about hair loss, why it happens (in both men and women) and what you can use to prevent it

Losing your hair (at any age) can often be a distressing experience. We have to bid farewell to the days of long luscious locks as we usher in a new era (which often feels long before our time) of thinning hair and baldness - not exactly the graceful ageing we had in mind for ourselves. Especially when hair loss starts in our thirties! (Don’t judge, it happens to the best of us).

But the sad truth of the matter is that hair loss is a reality for so many of us, men and women alike - well more specifically men (sorry guys). Regardless, it is a natural part of ageing and something so many of us have to put up with.

Well, we say NO MORE! No more to balding scalps, thinning hair, receding hairlines and hair loss! We are taking a stand, thanks to a brilliant, expertly researched and developed product - Minoxidil. A product that finally offers you the solution we need to prevent and even treat hair loss.

And believe us when we say, your hair and your self-confidence will thank you for it. We’ll dive into this product a bit later in the article in the “How to prevent the doom and destruction of hair loss” (we get the severity of the matter, hence the dramatisation).

For now, let’s have a look at hair loss, why it happens and how to prevent it…

First things first - a little bit about your hair

Hairs are teeny tiny shafts made of a protein called keratin. They are anchored by a group of cells known as hair follicles - these supply nutrients and oxygen to the root of your hair and keep your hair lubed with sebum.

Your body is completely covered in hair follicles, apart from the soles of your feet, palms of your hands and your lips. Your scalp contains around 100,000 hair follicles. Your hair is in a constant growth cycle and your scalp loses between 50 and 200 hairs in a day.

Why do men lose their hair?

In some men, the cycle of hair growth we all naturally have will begin to slow down. Basically, the growth phase of each hair will become shorter over time. This process begins at the sides of your head and at a patch on your crown and only speeds up from there.

This is known as Male Pattern Baldness or Androgenetic Alopecia.

Did you know that 2 out of 3 men will experience a form of MPB by the time they reach 35?

Why do women lose their hair?

Women can also suffer from hair loss as they age.

Their pattern of hair loss is different though, it tends to start with the hair thinning on the top of the head, this hair thinning does not always result in a patch of baldness. Which means that women do not truly go bald, but their hair does thin quite severely.

About 50% of women will have mild hair loss as they age and 20% develop more moderate or severe hair loss.

So, what causes hair loss?

Genetics is the most common cause of hair thinning and loss. But don’t blame just one parent, inherited baldness can come from your mom OR your dad.

Of course, there are also some external factors that can result in additional hair loss such as harsh treatments in your hair (heat applications on a regular basis), an unhealthy diet, hormonal changes and imbalances (particularly in women) and even medications.

How to prevent the doom and destruction of hair loss - Minoxidil (the magic hair regrowth remedy of your dreams)

Before we start getting you all excited about some marvellous cure for hair loss, we have to break it to you - there is no cure.

BUT! Do not lose hope our hair-loving friends - there is a solution and it’s called Minoxidil

Currently, there are 2 effective and safe products that have been approved by the FDA for the prevention of hair loss. One of these (and our personal favourite) is Minoxidil

This magic formula takes the form of a topical treatment and is applied to your scalp, it is known to slow down hair loss and even result in hair regrowth!

Minoxidil was initially developed to help in treating high blood pressure, but (and here’s where it gets interesting) the hair regrowth effects of it were actually discovered by accident!

Patients who took this for their high blood pressure said they also experienced unexpected hair growth! And so, in 1988 a topical version (containing 2% minoxidil - which is the active ingredient) was developed and approved to treat pattern hair loss.

Taking this one step further, a 5% formula was then created which proved to be far more effective than the 2%. There are a number of anecdotal studies online to back these findings and suggest a higher concentration to be the better solution when used for the treatment of hair loss.

Given that the 5% concentration of Minoxidil was significantly more successful, we took it one step further and created a 10% version. Which brings us to our next point...

The benefits of Minoxidil for men and women - say hello to happiness and beautiful hair!

Here’s how Minoxidil gets your hair back (and your happiness):

  • Minoxidil penetrates deep into your scalp to revitalise your hair follicles and promote new hair growth
  • When used on a regular basis, Minoxidil will help you to grow thicker and fuller hair and even slow down hair loss

How to apply Minoxidil

Minoxidil comes in a liquid form and is applied to your scalp using a dropper. This allows for the solution to travel between your hair strands and be absorbed by the scalp.

Our products come in both 5% and 10% concentrations.

All you need are 6-10 drops applied twice a day to a dry scalp and hair.

How do I know if it’s working?

At first, you might see some ‘peach-fuzz’ like hair growing on your scalp, then in time, you will begin to notice new healthy looking hairs growing. When using Minoxidil on a daily basis, your hair will become thicker and fuller.

So, if you are looking for the hair product of your healthy hair dreams (yes, really), then Minoxidil, which is developed with quality, precision and hair regrowth results in mind, is your answer.

Don’t believe us? Why not try it out for yourself?

Your luscious locks are waiting...
