What is Minoxidil?

Minoxidil is a proven solution for treating hair loss and thinning. This topical treatment is synthesised from a newly-improved formula to help both men and women grow thicker and fuller hair - and slow down the natural hair loss process.

As one of only two FDA-approved products for treating hair loss, we ensure that our solutions contain only a very low dose of alcohol in order to make the treatment as safe and gentle on the scalp for our health-conscious consumers as possible.

Why it works

Minoxidil has been widely tested and researched to provide quality hair regrowth results. This advanced formula nourishes the hair, repairs damage and reduces breakage.

Originally, Minoxidil treatments only contained 2% Minoxidil, but we wanted to improve our product and developed a more effective, faster-working 5% and 10% concentration. Our quality Minoxidil 5% and 10% products have since been carefully developed to penetrate deep into the scalp and revitalise the hair follicles to promote new hair growth.

How to apply our treatments 

Minoxidil comes in a liquid form and is applied to your scalp using a dropper. This allows for the solution to travel between your hair strands so that it can be absorbed by the scalp. 

Our products come in both 5% and 10% concentrations. 

All you need is 6-10 drops applied twice a day to a dry scalp and hair. 

Minoxidil 5% vs Minoxidil 10%

• Both 2% and 5% concentration of the Minoxidil solution are the common dosages used for hair loss, but the 10% solution is an even more effective way to improve hair growth results. 
• In 2002, a study  compared the dose response in each concentration (that’s the expected increase in effectiveness as dosage increases) and found that higher concentrations of the Minoxidil solution performed better when it came to inspiring hair growth. 
• For example, when subjects were treated with 5% minoxidil (instead of 2%), their results were far better - and the same can be said for the superior effect found when using Minoxidil 10%.
• Keep in mind that this doesn’t mean you’ll see twice as much hair growth if you used the 10% versus the 5%. Rather, using the 10% will result in more noticeable results, quicker. This includes faster hair growth, increased hair density and greater strengthening of the hair follicles. 

What conditions can Minoxidil treat?

Minoxidil helps prevent and treat a wide variety of conditions. These include thinning hair, thinning on the crown, falling hair, receding hairlines and male or female pattern baldness. Minoxidil also helps treat two common conditions:

ALOPECIA AREATA

Topical minoxidil is safe and easy-to-use for those experiencing a hair-loss condition known as Alopecia Areata. Applying our 5% topical Minoxidil solution twice daily will facilitate hair regrowth and restoration. The rate of healthy hair growth may also improve if cortisone cream is applied thirty minutes after the Minoxidil.

Please note: Topical minoxidil solution is not effective in treating those with 100% scalp hair loss.

PCOS

Many women with PCOS (Polycystic ovary syndrome) have problems with thinning hair (known as Androgenic alopecia) and female pattern hair loss. This is due to the high levels of androgens which are found in women with PCOS. However, the hair follicles of women with PCOS still remain alive. The good news is that this increases the chance that Minoxidil hair loss therapy will be successful and noticeably thicken existing hair.

Please note: topical Minoxidil products will not completely cure PCOS-related hair loss, but it will effectively treat hair loss and thinning.

How do I know Minoxidil is working?

When using Minoxidil on a daily basis, your hair will become thicker and fuller. At first, you might see some ‘peach-fuzz’ like hair growing on your scalp and then, in time, you will begin to notice new healthy looking hair growing.
